Writing
The author does a great job of creating the mythical world in this story. The descriptive writing during sex, fight, and emotional scenes is excellently written.
This author uses voice to text to write and I’m in awe of what they have created.
Narration
Morgana Black is a new narrator to me. She did a fantastic job. This book has a lot of characters in it, and all have their own unique voice. I was never confused about who was speaking. At points, there are scenes where 6 or more characters are speaking, I was very impressed. She conveyed the emotions of the characters well and helped set the scene perfectly.
Pros And My Favourite Parts
This book was nothing I expected it to be! I was expecting a sexy, easy read and instead, I got pulled into a world of adventure, mystery, and intrigue. This book has a brilliant world that the author has built with many characters from all walks of an elite hierarchy that rules the world.
The characters are all well-developed with backstories and believable arcs. The story is mostly about three women, Scarlett Lamb who is a summer elf. Jemina Bannon, a human, and Queen Annum Joli. It explores how three people who shouldn’t cross each other’s paths end up entwined in each other’s destiny.
This is the first book in a series. It does end on a huge cliffhanger that I didn’t see coming. I can’t wait to see what happens next and where the story leads.
Heads Up
There are themes in this book that may not appeal to some readers.
Sex is freely explored and, in some cases used as currency to avoid other punishments. Although there are no explicit scenes of rape it is mentioned and for me, the lines of consent are blurred at some points in the story. Having said that, the author has reasons for this and explores the characters thinking on the subject.
There are a couple of sex scenes that have explicit, graphic male/female relations, but those can be easily skipped.
There is a lot of violence, killings, and maiming described- it is consistent with the times but if you don’t like those types of scenes then this one isn’t for you.
The Conclusion
If you love epic, erotic adventures then this one’s for you. It’s packed full of action, intrigue, and mystery all wrapped up in enough steamy sex to make your toes curl.
I admit some of the fight scenes were a bit too gory for me but that didn’t stop my enjoyment of the story. This book has two futa characters and is full of explicit scenes involving them. It is a mythical novel set in the ancient Greek goddess’s era, so although all sexual experiences are consented to, at times it is dubious. However, the actions and emotions of those involved are explained fully, and as the story and world evolve it is easy to understand what is happening.
I ended up drawn in and invested in the characters and their destiny. The author has built an interesting world and as this is book one in a series you get a lot of information as the story progresses. I never felt overwhelmed, instead, I was excited to discover new areas. The same can be said for the characters and their magical, mystical abilities. It’s extremely clever.
I really enjoyed the narration of the audio and swapped between reading and listening. You get over 15 hours of audiobook. It’s a great read that will leave you wanting more.

As the trio made their way across the stony streets, Scarlett was taken aback by the scale of everything she was seeing. Most buildings were a combination of stone and wood, masterfully made with beautiful architecture and open courtyards. Fountains and statues placed in beautiful parks filled her sight in every direction. Various gods and warriors were made in marble, bronze, and iron.
It was obvious that they were in some sort of business district with multi-level buildings fronted with all-white marble pillars and signs to advertise the wares within, such as ‘Temptations of Aphrodite.’ She could see that behind the windows. Various lingerie and dresses looked to be very revealing to the skin but beautiful in their own right. She was a little confused when she saw what appeared to be a red leather mask with zippers where the eyes and mouth would be with an exposed nose area.
After Jemina called out which direction to go at a split in the road, she turned her head a bit to show Lilly that she was speaking to her, “I can’t believe that you went through all that, not only for me but that you got away with it without so much as a complaint from him.”
Lilly chuckled rather sinisterly as she called back to Jemina, “Jemina, was I bad? And remember, honesty is a virtue.”
Jemina then laughed as she climbed up on the trunks to get closer to them to talk. “I’d say that was rather tame, but then again, the sun has long left in the day if you really want to impress her.”
Lilly let out a sultry ‘hmm’ as her hands ran back along the outside of Scarlett’s hips and up the tight leather top, tapping her fingers along her ribs with her nails in slow rhythm to her humming. Her hot breath occasionally tickled the unbound hair on the back of her neck. Her body grew warm, and she could feel the flaccid length grow within her pants, taking in blood as vessels began to fill slowly.
She kept her eyes straight forward, barely noticing the people they passed or the other villas along the streets. It was as if, at this moment, her only goal in life was to not allow the full engorgement of her cock. Not that her pants couldn’t withstand it, but even with the leather skirting, it would become evident if seen while seated on the horse or if Lilly’s hand brushed across it involuntarily.
Her humming would then change to some unfortunate words. “Do you think she’s willing to let me… Impress her?” Lilly said to Jemina.
The valve from her heart to her crotch suddenly released. She felt the familiar stretching of the loose skin upon her phallus and the pressure against the leather with each bounce of the horse. She then tried to think quickly of something to wake her from this moment. But sadly, the best her brain could muster in that exact moment to defend herself was, “Sleep. I-I tired.”
Jemina said, “Oh, I’m sure you can’t wait-.” Behind the two, she was suddenly flooded, as was Lilly, with the pheromones streaming past her, “-to get in… to bed.” She fluttered her eyes a bit as if trying to shake all this random attraction that was filling her stomach and pelvis with warmth. She then realized where they were and told Scarlett to pull over at the third Villa.
“Yes! That…,” Scarlett said quickly. “My back hurts from sleeping sitting up, I think.”
“I told Lilly that you could share my room. I got a big bed.”
Lilly interjected, “But you don’t have to. I mean, we all have big beds, but my room is upstairs with a balcony.”
“I don’t have a balcony that you could fall off of, but I have an enclosed patio, and the bath is right outside my door for you to clean up.”
“Oh, let’s not be silly. She’s not going to fall for you. I mean off you… The balcony,” Lilly stammered and rolled her eyes at her flustered state. “But a bath! Yes, that does sound lovely right now.”
“Oh indeed, so it is settled. Nothing is better for an aching back than a hot bath.”
