And By the Sea She Came To Me by Naomi PiperAnd By the Sea She Came To Me by Naomi Piper is a sapphic monster erotica novella, or as a friend of mine likes to call them, a monster muncher mash.

Anna is a bored and apathetic college student, home to spend Thanksgiving break with her father at their island lighthouse. Suffering from severe ennui, the only thing that really makes her happy is consuming hentai in one medium or another.

Echo is a tentacled mermaid whose family prowls the sea hunting for, and feasting upon, humans. However, after surreptitiously watching Anna masturbating in her bathtub, she has developed a different kind of hunger for this particular human.

When the two meet, splashes fly, and orgasms abound, as they spend the week learning each other’s deepest secrets and desires. But soon Anna will need to return to college leaving her new-found lover behind. Can she carry on when there is nothing but emptiness inside her after experiencing such fullness? Can Echo survive in the cold waters of the ocean bereft of Anna’s warm touch?

Pros And My Favourite Parts

Please world, give me more sapphic monster erotica, particularly of the tentacled variety. I am a sucker for titillating tentacles, and while this novella is a quick and short read, it is packed with hot and steamy sex scenes that had me squirming in my seat.

The story is told from both characters’ points of view, the setting is well described and there are also some sweet moments between Anna and Echo. However, I came for the tentacle sex and let me tell you, I was not disappointed in that regard!

Cons And Heads Up

While I really enjoyed the erotic component, there are a couple of vexing aspects of the story. The first being the characteristics ascribed to the two main characters. Anna is described as the beautiful, innocent, golden haired, pearly, white woman whereas Echo, the dark skinned, curly haired mercreature, is predatorial, naïve, and suffers an inferiority complex.

The second issue I have revolves around the way the author includes, but then glosses over, what appears to be an eating disorder Anna suffers. I feel like it is too heavy a topic for this novella as it is too short to appropriately address and, let’s face it, I’m reading this kind of book for the monster sex.

The Conclusion

Folks, there are many, many tentacles, and they go everywhere! No kraken is left unfilled! No urchin unsatisfied. I’m not squidding! If you are looking for a navel (spelling intended) filled with writhing tendrils of pleasure, then cuttle on up and dive into this erotic novella.

Excerpt from And By the Sea She Came To Me by Naomi Piper

It’s awkward and uncomfortable, but Echo clambers with her tentacles, only stumbling to the ground and catching herself on her arms twice. The tall structure is before her. She uses her suckers to climb, like she’s done on boats many times before. She’s more careful here than she is on boats, with no water below to catch her if she falls. But she doesn’t have far to climb before she’s at the viewing hole.

Her mouth falls open.

The human, stripped of covering, is sitting in a bowl. The bowl fills with water from a spigot.

Echo has seen images of women with their legs bare. She found a magazine full of such images once, and she spent nearly a full day poring over each page until it disintegrated in her hands.

The human’s legs are small and white. They look soft. Her top half looks something like Echo’s. Echo runs a hand over her own chest as her eyes trail the same route across the human’s. but the human is smooth, not ridged in scale.

Her legs keep Echo’s attention as they move under the water. Why is she in water? Does she like water?

The human’s hand runs from her own neck, down her body, to the space between her legs. Echo leans forward, nearly losing her grip on the wall.

The human twists until she’s sitting sideways, pushing her legs out of the bowl.

Echo’s urge to reach into the open window and touch her is strong. She knows what toes are, the small, curious appendages at the end of her feet. Like odd hands. Echo wonders if they can grip things in the same way.

The human hums, startling Echo. Her eyes are closed, and her fine hair floats in the water around her head as she sinks further. Everything about the human looks irresistibly soft.

The spigot pours water onto the spot between her legs. With her hips angled up like that, Echo can see her opening. A slit, a bit like Echo’s own. But it’s pink and surrounded with light hair like on the human’s head.

She curls her legs around the bowl and lifts her hips closer to the spigot, and she moans.

A tightness wraps Echo’s middle. Her breathing quickens. She wants to be in the bowl with the human. She wants to see her closer, hear the sounds clearer. This is fascinating, scientifically, but Echo’s body is way more interested than her brain is.

If feels like an invisible rope around Echo’s hips pulls her toward this vulnerable human. Maybe it’s hunger. It feels like hunger.

The human’s hand moves behind herself, and Echo leans closer to watch her fingers push into her slit. Echo is worried she’s hurt herself when her whole body shudders, her toes curl, and her back arches sharply, but the sound the human makes is unmistakable.

Echo swallows with a dry throat and blinks, dizzy. Her slit throbs.
